Customer access uses passkey-only authentication (WebAuthn / FIDO2). Workspace content is end-to-end encrypted in the browser with keys derived from the user's passkey — kaala.ai never sees plaintext. Sessions are stateless: nothing is persisted to disk after the session ends. Compute runs only within the EU/EEA under Datatilsynet jurisdiction.

Is kaala.ai GDPR-compliant?

Yes — by design. The controller of record is Shivakumar Movva (sole proprietor, Ålesund, Norway). Articles 15–22 of the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and automated-decision protections) are first-class endpoints under /data-rights, not a help-desk ticket. Responses are signed and delivered within 30 days.

Customer data is not stored. The demo platform is stateless — sessions live only in the browser; logs are aggregated, IP-truncated, and rotated under 24 hours. When customer workspaces launch, they will run only within the EU/EEA, with no transfers to third countries without Standard Contractual Clauses and a documented Transfer Impact Assessment.

Wherever multiple criteria need to be weighed against each other — supplier selection, risk scoring, dual-source decisions — kaala.ai uses the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), developed by Thomas L. Saaty. AHP produces consistent, defensible, mathematically grounded weights from pairwise comparisons, and every comparison is traceable in the platform.

Every claim on the platform is tied to a named open or verified source. Current sources include NASA, Copernicus, EUR-Lex, OpenSanctions, ACLED, GDELT, Global Fishing Watch, IMF PortWatch, CISA, IPCC, UN, IFRS, GLEIF, and OpenStreetMap (ODbL). All are used under their respective licenses.
